Bol & Deng light up Stockholm

June 11, 2018 by Peter McGarry Leave a Comment

In an amazing result for Peter Bol and Joseph Deng, they have ensured a SKAAC quinella in a Diamond League race in the 800m in Stockholm on Saturday night. Peter running 1:44.56, becoming the 6th Australian under 1:45 and Joseph Deng running 1:44.61 his second PB in 7 days. What a coaching performance for Justin Rinaldi, who now has coached 3 of the 6 Australian’s that have gone sub 1:45 over 800m.

Peter has endured a tough 12-18 months and had an 18 hour flight from the USA to Sweden after his place in the race was not confirmed until Wednesday night US time. His bags also didn’t make it to Sweden with him, forcing him to buy some spikes specifically for the race. What a great day to announce yourself on the world stage, Pete!!

Joseph Deng was all the rage following last weeks’ slashing run in Hengelo and ran another fantastic race, another PB inside 7 days and now moves on to the 800m at the Paris Diamond League in 2 weeks time.

While on the subject of Justin Rinaldi, he can now claim a Diamond League trifecta, with Van Rensberg from South Africa, who Justin coaches via correspondence finishing in 3rd place rounding out a very famous day for Justin, Peter, Joseph and SKAAC.
