AV Tan Relays – Gold to Under 20 Men

September 15, 2018 by Peter McGarry Leave a Comment

A historic day for SKAAC at the Tan Relays with our first ever junior Gold Medal, with the Under 20 Team of Tristan Day (11:51), Callum Day (12:34) and Kade Szakacs on debut with 12:41 claiming the win and their own slice of SKAAC history leading home Mornington Peninsula & Doncaster.

The Open Women’s Team of Charlotte Imer (13:02), Kayla Debondt (14:10) and Milla Gleeson finished in 2nd place in Women’s Div 4, taking SKAAC’s first “official” XCR team in any grade in XCR.
Our lone competitor in the Women’s Under 18 was Isabella McDonald running 18:20.

The Under 14 Mens team of Xavier McDonald (14:39), Patrick Retschko on debut (14:47) and Tom Forster (14:21) finishing in a very strong 4th place. SKAAC also fielded a second Under 14 Team, with Joel Imbriano (15:18) and Ben Forster a slashing (14:42) All 5 boys are eligible for this grade again next season, so watch out!!

The Open Mens team was kicked off in fine style by Adam Pyke (11:21) looking very fit and strong. Xavier Chapman in deep preparation for the Melbourne Marathon next month ran 12:51, with Chris Milne 15:11, Dino Imbriano in great shape with 14:15 and Andrew Thomas dipping under 16 minutes with 15:57.
Thanks to our officials Lincoln Mah, Daniel Mioni & Sam Doble, for without them none of today would have been possible. Also to the team recorders, a big thank you to Anne Howard, Martin Pyke & Matt Forster.
A fantastic end to the season that contained so many highlights.
