AV Shield Round 6 – Program of events
Please see attached for a copy of the program for Round 6, which is to be held at Doncaster Athletics track on SUNDAY 20 November 2016. Competition starts at 12:00pm on the track (Sprint Hurdles) and 11:45 for the big Discus (>35m) & Pole Vault (>3.80m) competitions.
This is a crucial round in a number of ways:-
- It will be the first time this season that we will be able to gather en-masse to stake our claims for the AV Shield Finals.
- We will also welcome a number of Loreto students having their first taste of AV Shield Competition as invitational athletes at this meet. Thanks to Kath O’Connell & Kate Richardson for making this initiative happen.
- It is a chance for our three (Under 14, 16 & Open) 4×100 State Relay “shadow” teams to get a hit-out prior to the AV State Relays on 26 November 2016.
- It is a chance for our Open 400m runners to stake their claims for spots in the two teams that we are planning to field at the State Relays.
It should be a great day of athletics. We will be based in our usual Doncaster spot, on the hill just past the start/finish line.
Please see below for a copy of the program for SUNDAY.

What a weekend that was…6 All Schools medals and an Open 200m Club Record!!
With plenty of SKAAC Athletes at the All Schools over the last weekend and a special performance by Michael Romanin in Brisbane the season has got off to a flyer for SKAAC.
Firstly to Michael Romanin’s effort in Brisbane over 200m on Saturday in the Qld Club Championships. Simply BRILLIANT.

Shaun Hargreaves cemented his spot in the 4×100 State Relays team with an 11.1sec effort in the 100m to be the fastest in mend Div 1.
An amazing 16 athletes faced the starter in the last event of the day, the 400m. A full field in Mens 1, Mens 40+ and 6 junior athletes rounding out a great day.
However, the person who sacrificed the most for the round was Janine Imbriano (wife of club legend Dino, and mum of rising star Joel) as she allowed Dino and Joel to compete on this day which was also her & Dino’s 16th wedding anniversary!! Thanks Janine…
