AVSL Round 4 & Rare Air Round 1 Wrap-Up

December 5, 2021 by Peter McGarry Leave a Comment

Tom Coghlan has got his season off to a massive start, adding 20cm to his Pole Vault PB at the Rare Air meet held at Melbourne University on 3 December 2021. This adds 20cm to Tom’s own SKAAC Club Records at Under 17 & 18.

AVSL Round 4 saw competition split between Knox and Keilor tracks. Whilst numbers were low at Keilor, two performances shone out. Lucie Thompson equalled her own High Jump Club Record with another performance of 1.30m in very windy conditions. Also at Keilor Saskia Klotz ran a PB in the 200m of 29.61sec, her first run under 30 seconds. Saskia’s run is 15th All-time for SKAAC.

The action at Knox was no less impressive. There were PB’s and club records in the 400m galore!! Every female SKAAC 400m runner in the round ran a PB over 400m!! And there were 5 of them!!

Bridie Hill and Cleo Richardson have started their respective season’s brilliantly with PB’s over 400m, 800m & 1500m already this season. Bridie and Cleo both tackled another 400m, with Bridie taking a whole second off her PB, lowering it to 60.94 sec. Cleo sliced an amazing 2 seconds from her PB, running a huge race to lower her 400m PB to 61.27. These two runs strengthen their hold on the 3rd & 4th fastest times for SKAAC ever.

Jocelyn Kerr smashed out a 400m in 63.78 recording a massive PB and taking out the SKAAC Under 13, 14 Club Records.

Mimi Tucker lowered her PB by 0.27 of a second to run 64.73 and Molly Blood took over 2 seconds off her PB in running 71.16 seconds.

Great to see James Kerr run 52.36, Noah Sewak 54.15, Tom Templeton 57.71 and Joel Imbriano 67.26 make it 9 starters from SKAAC in the 400m.

Huw Warrillow ran a magnificent 3000m in 11:26.1, closely followed by Joel Imbriano 11:26.7.

Dino & Glen Imbriano showed their stuff in the Discus with 15.16m & 18.92m respectively.

These performances saw SKAAC finish 5th in Division 4 for the day.
