Australian 800m Record to Joseph Deng in Monaco

July 21, 2018 by Peter McGarry Leave a Comment

Joseph Deng has sensationally broken Ralph Doubel and Alex Rowe’s National 800m record of 1:44.40 in running 1:44.21 in the Monaco Diamond League run of Friday night. In a race loaded with the world’s best 2 lappers, Joseph and Peter Bol (1:46.64) did themselves proud, their families proud, their coach Justin Rinaldi proud, and all of Australia proud. It is amazing to think that a mere 2 weeks ago Joseph turned 20 years of age.

In a most successful overseas trip for the pair, who have both claimed PB’s in an eight week period, all at SKAAC are in raptures about what Joseph and Peter have achieved and equally excited about where their hard work and talent may lead them. The 800m is a very special event for SKAAC, multiple National Champions, and now two Open national record holders has the SKAAC all-time rankings listing, that can be seen at https://skaac.com/rankings-individual/ a virtual perfect correlation of the Australian All-Time listing.

There aren’t enough words to describe the effort that Joseph & Peter’s coach Justin Rinaldi has put in to not only these two sensational athletes, but his entire squad. JR’s sacrifices (& those of JR’s wife Bridie), season after season to help guide and inspire Australia’s, and the some of the world’s most exciting athletes is worth being part of SKAAC alone. All at SKAAC thank JR publically for his HUGE part in the successes achieved in Monaco.

Joseph and Peter are two of the world’s most exciting 800m athletes – and they are right here amongst it with us at SKAAC.

How proud are we today!!
