Gus Simpfendorfer has claimed the Under 14 400m Victorian record, slashing 1.15 seconds off the record in stopping the clock and taking a commanding win at the National All Schools Final in Adelaide in 50.44sec.
Gus is relatively new to athletics and has had a most memorable start to his career, with him being crowned SKC’s first ever Year 7 recipient of the Outstanding Performance Trophy after his first APS Sports on 21 October and under the expert guidance of coach Steve Cain.
Gus joins the great Matthew Burmeister as a SKAAC Victorian State record holder over 400m.
Well Done Gus!!
