In an amazing finish to the Victorian Decathlon Championship held in Bendigo, Seb Reyneke has won his first Open Gold Medal by a mere 5 points!! Seb’s score of 7,262, was second All-time for SKAAC and contained no less than 5 PB’s for Seb over the two days.
PB’s were achieved in Shot Put (11.98m), Discus (36.74m), Pole Vault (4.60m), 110m Hurdles (15.52m) and Javelin (49.13m).
It should also be noted that Seb was a mere 1cm from PB’s in two other events!! His Long Jump of 7.13m and High Jump of 2.04m both right on PB’s efforts.
Seb won 6-out-of-the-10-events…the 100m (11.25), Long Jump (7.13m), High Jump (2.04m), 400m (50.73), Hurdles (15.52), Pole Vault (4.60m).
A deserved Gold Medal for a very hard working athlete and a great springboard into Nationals.
Well Done Seb and to your coach and SKAAC Life Member, Steve Cain.
